Naomi Owen

Naomi is delighted to have been taken on as a tenant at 4KBW, following completion of her pupillage with the set. Naomi currently has a mixed common law practice extending across crime, civil and employment law.

Civil:

Naomi has been instructed to advise on a number of personal injury cases and road traffic accidents, as well as appearing and advising in relation to a neighbour boundary dispute for which she drafted the pleadings.

Employment:

Having experience in the Employment department of a solicitor’s firm prior to coming to the Bar and having studied Employment law during her BVC year, Naomi is able to accept instructions in this area. She recently conducted a 2 day case in the Employment Tribunal regarding a claim in unfair dismissal and sex discrimination (maternity leave).

Crime:

Naomi receives instructions for both defence and prosecution cases, including the Youth Court. She regularly appears in the criminal courts for a range of cases such as those involving dishonesty, drugs, offences against the persons, sex allegations, benefit fraud, public order matters and driving offences.

During pupillage, Naomi was involved in a 4 week money laundering trial at Birmingham Crown Court, assisting her Head of Chambers in both the preparation and execution of the trial in which he represented one of three defendants. She wrote a number of advices on this matter including advice on evidence and police procedure (PACE 1984). She also assisted in the drafting of skeletons and applications regarding abuse of process and disclosure issues.
