Julie-Anne Comerton

Civil:

Julie-Anne covers all areas of civil work to include Personal injury; Landlord and tenant; Licensing; Immigration; Commercial.

Julie-Anne has wide experience in European law and Human rights law having worked in the Council of Europe, the European Commission and the European Parliament. She has also carried out pro bono death penalty work in the USA.

Criminal:

Julie-Anne covers all areas of defence work in the MC and CC.
She also prosecutes on behalf of the RSPCA, Premier Monitoring, the Post Office and the Probation Services.

Notable cases:

Mahmood Oskui & Ors (2004) - As a first six pupil, Julie-Anne assisted her joint Heads of Chambers in a 3 week money laundering trial.

Wayne Harley (2004) - As a first six-pupil, Julie-Anne assisted in a high profile case of aggravated burglary. She provided advice on the defence of automatism.

Shaun Gray (2006) - Julie-Anne was instructed as junior counsel in a 5 day confiscation hearing. The case was a landmark inheritance tax prosecution.

Edward Lewington and Nicholas De Haan (2006) - High profile case in Oxford regarding illegal rave parties.
